Quartet Registration

Advantages Of Quartet Registration
Each foursome accepting the exciting challenge of forming a quartet is encouraged to register the quartet with Harmony, Inc. Some of the advantages to registering, whether they wish to compete or not, include:

  1. The chosen quartet name is protected from use by any other quartet in Harmony, Inc. (Note: When a Harmony, Inc. quartet has been inactive for two years or more, with the exception of International Medalist Quartets, the name may be used by anyone. However, Medalist Quartet names may not be used again.)

  2. The quartet is automatically placed on the mailing list for promotional material, Contest and Judging Rules, and other information sent out by the Quartet Coordinator.

  3. The quartet is placed on the Convention mailing list.

  4. Quartets appearing on the official roster have a much better chance of being contacted to appear on shows, inter-chapter programs, or being used as a demonstration quartet at educational seminars.

  5. A registered quartet would be informed if an instructor offers coaching time at either Area Convention or during International Convention. A demonstration quartet may be needed for such an occasion as Harmony Intensive Training School (HITS), and a registered quartet would be chosen over a non-registered foursome.

  6. If a Quartet Coaching seminar were scheduled in an Area, the Registered Quartet Directory would be used to determine what foursomes might choose to participate.

Requirements For Registration

  1. Complete the Official Quartet Registration Form, typed or in black ink. (Click on the links above) Keep a copy of the completed form for your records. Mail the form to the Quartet Coordinator of Harmony, Inc. who will certify the form and send an e-mail confirming the registration.

  2. Include with the form a $10.00 registration fee, U.S. funds or its equivalent in Canadian funds made payable to Harmony, Inc.

  3. Information regarding a quartet's change in personnel, change in active status or disbanding should be reported to the Executive Secretary immediately.

Registration Dates

  • Quartets wishing to compete at the Area level must first be a registered quartet within Harmony, Inc. (In order to be eligible to compete at the International Contest, a quartet must have competed AND qualified in its  AC&C Quartet Contest immediately preceding the International Contest.) Send form to the Executive Secretary. (Nov. 02)

Note: Quartets NOT wishing to compete may register at any time.
