OVATION

OVATION proudly holds the title of 2009 Area 1 Quartet Champs and is the first quartet from PEI to do so. We love nothing more than to share our gift of song and are committed in our goal to strive for excellence in singing. We are working hard to build a repertoire and to raise enough funds to compete at International this year. We aspire to bring you to your feet in spontaneous applause, thereby earning the name we have so lovingly chosen; OVATION.

Our members are (from left to right):

Kelly Brown (Baritone) lives in Summerside and is the Bari section leader in the Abegweit Chimes Chorus in Charlottetown and coordinates the warm-up and vocal craft team.

Carolyn Prime (Tenor) was the Director for Summer City Sounds and is currently the Abegweit Chimes Assistant Director. She has sung in many quartets over the years; most recently with Flashback.

Mary Capper (Lead) is currently an Associate Member who has sung with The ScotianAires, The Capital Chordettes and The Abegweit Chimes. Mary has twice won the Area 2 quartet Championship with Chasing Rainbows as well as the Findlay Award at International. She is a retired Harmony Inc. Singing Judge who held positions as Judges Training Coordinator and Singing Category Director.

Sherry McGuigan (Bass) is a Section Leader in the Abegweit Chimes and has sung in many quartets. She won the Findlay award in 2001 with Take Note and most recently sang with Carolyn in Flashback.
