This dynamic quartet was formed in February of 2001 and
has enjoyed
great success under the competent coaching of Dr. Douglas
Dunsmore of
Memorial University School of Music.
In 2004, ACCENT made history when they became the
first Newfoundland
quartet to place first in the "Atlantic Provinces
Quartet Competition"
and received the Wona Wright Memorial Award. They brought
the trophy
back to Newfoundland again by winning the competition
in June, 2006!
The quartet has performed on numerous concerts as well
as at corporate engagements, private socials, & fund-raising events.
They have enjoyed
several guest spots on local television [Rogers Cable] and
the CBC
morning show.
In addition to traditional barbershop selections, these
four
enthusiastic women are pleased to offer audiences an extensive
repertoire including gospel, Irish, and a variety of other
familiar
music.
