Canadian Atlantic Provinces Chapter Officer Training Seminar2009:
This event is sponsored by the Sunrise Division of The Barbershop Harmony Society. For the past several years the men have extended an invitation to Area 1 Chapter members and officers to attend the event. It's a packed day - full of useful information for Area 1 members.

We'll send out the Individual Registration Form soon, for you to fill out and send in to Aubrey Wallace.Unfortunately, there will be no Saturday Night Show this year or Turkey Dinner. Classes will be held on Saturday morning and afternoon only until 5:00 pm. There will be no evening classes or any activities on Sunday.
Please make a special effort to take advantage of this year's CAPCOTS leadership and music training, and please spread the word around about CAPCOTS - we need at least 100 attendees to make a real go of it. Thank you.

Would you like to put together a terrific "evening plan" for your Chapter night? Experience a three-hour session on programming your chorus rehearsal with an informative 15 - 20 minute introduction followed by an interesting Q&A session with lots of sharing and comparing from those attending.Chapter Membership (MRRT Program) - Ian Ferguson and Brad MacDonald

Is your chapter ready to grow? This comprehensive course will help you organize your entire chapter for membership growth by identifying issues that inhibit growth and adversely affect retention. Your chapter will learn simple techniques for recruiting new members, targeting younger men for membership, advertising that works and holding successful guest nights. In addition, you'll learn how your chapter can create and implement a Membership Recruitment and Retention Team (MRRT) to keep your chapter growing. Because of the team approach to membership growth, this course is recommended for Chorus Directors, Assistant Directors, Vice Presidents of Music and Performance, Chapter Presidents and Vice Presidents of Chapter Development (Membership) or anyone in the chapter who has an interest in learning how to make your chapter grow. (Your President and Music Director will be expected to sit in on this class for at least 2 hours.)Chorus Director's Workshop - Shelagh Radcliffe

Features directing techniques, rehearsal techniques and building a better choral sound. Learn the hows and whys of the effective use of body language and gestures from an interesting video presentation.
